Alex is a former professional MMA fighter and one of the top submission specialist in the world, finishing all his fights by submission. In 2012, Alex won the 145 lb AFC MMA title. In addition, he was the Serbian national grappling team coach before joining Chicago MMA in 2016.

In addition to his MMA career, Alex was one of the top grapplers in Serbia and the US, winning multiple Serbian, Croatian, and Hungarian championships. In the US, Alex has won numerous medals in NAGA, Metamoris, IBJJF Europe, and FILA World Championships.
