GRACIE BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is widely regarded as the single most effective martial art. Students will learn both self defense and sport jiu-jitsu techniques. In addition, classes will focus on improving physical conditioning and improving flexibility.

SITYODTONG MUAY THAI KICKBOXING

Sityodtong Muay Thai kickboxing classes are designed to introduce students to striking for Mixed Martial Arts. Students will build a strong foundation by learning the basic strikes and combinations using all eight limbs: hands, legs, elbows, and knee. Once students have developed a strong base, advanced striking techniques will be taught.

BOXING

No kickboxer is complete until he or she learns how to box. Boxing perfectly complements kickboxing, teaching students to more effectively strike with their hands. Students will learn the fundamentals of boxing, including stance, movement, punching, defense, and strategy.

CAPOEIRA

Capoeira is a martial art that combines elements of fight, acrobatics, music, dance and rituals in a very elegant and magnetic way. Performed by two people, it is often called a “game” that is played, not a fight. Capoeira is always played with a smile on face symbolizing that the capoeiristas are not afraid from the danger that is coming. The uniqueness of Capoeira will give your body physical strength, power and flexibility and your mind self-confidence, concentration, courage and creativity.

WOMEN'S MMA: KICKBOXING AND SELF-DEFENSE

Women's MMA is an innovative women’s only training program that combines the most effective kickboxing and self-defense techniques with a functional training component to give you a total body workout. This class is appropriate for women at all levels from beginner to advanced. No experience required!

WRESTLING

Having a complete game--from takedown to submission--is critical to success in martial arts. Add wrestling to your toolbox. Taught by former Northwestern University wrestling coach, Drew Pariano, the Wrestling for MMA/BJJ class will introduce students to the fundamentals of wrestling. Students will learn about positioning, movement, setups, takedowns, and defense. 

 

Youth PROGRAMS

 

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM (AGES 12 AND UP)

Chicago MMA has the city’s only dedicated High School MMA Program designed to introduce students ages 12 and up to the sport of Mixed Martial Arts in a safe and fun environment. Students will learn the various disciplines of MMA while getting in shape and learning self-defense.

KIDS PROGRAM (AGES 5 - 11)

Created by Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belts, the youth program will teach students the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts. Each class will introduce students to new techniques and concepts, building a foundation for a lifetime of learning and fun. Also, under the expert instruction of our highly trained staff, students will learn valuable life skills to be successful both on the mat and off. Each lesson will incorporate valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and excellence. In addition, students will learn street safety and bully prevention tips, tactics and strategies through our STREET SAFE program. We strive for and expect excellence from all our students. Our ultimate goal is to help create better people and citizens.
